- Weather permitting, we’re planning to go to picnic area on Hwy 21 past Cook’s Point
- National Historic Trail: El Camino Real
- May meeting will be at usual date/time (2026-05-16 09:30), but a different location
- We’ll be at the Community Emergency Operations Center (CEOC) in downtown Bryan
- 110 N Main St, Bryan [Google Maps]
- Facility is locked, so we’ll need to get there on time and be let in

- Starts one place (Nathitoches, LA) and ends somewhere else (Mexico City)
- Originally linked native tribes before any European involvement
- Main part just happens to pass through Brazos Valley
- Actually forms northern border
- Cook’s Point: somewhere near where Fort Tenochtitlán was established to maintain Mexican sovereignty
- Used to be a busy area; home to lots of key historical figures
